NEW Sheila Fleet Kirkwall Shop Update!
Sep 6, 2024
After two years of working behind-the-scenes on our new Kirkwall Gallery location, we thought it ...
The Sheila Fleet Jewellery windows are live! If you happen to be in Edinburgh you’ll find ten of the windows in Jenners glowing with the light, colours and landscape of Orkney...
Sheila is celebrating 20 years in Jenners, one of Scotland’s most prestigious department stores, and was delighted to welcome a special guest. First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, officially launched the window displays on Monday 20 July.
The windows are a collaboration between Sheila and her graphic artist Gina Ramsay. Sheila’s bold and vibrant designer jeweller is showcased on Gina’s original illustration. Waves sweep and curl and the land stretches below a long blue sky of clouds into a deep sunset of red colours. Look closer and you’ll see Orkney’s famous monuments, and a Workshop by the sea...
Charming all at the launch with her own song was 8-year old, Erin Morrison. Erin visited Orkney last year and loved it so much she wrote “Sweet Orkney Islands” to remember her holiday. Sheila presented the First Minister and Erin with the first pieces from her next collection – watch this space!
Sheila hopes you will enjoy the jewellery displays and the depth of intricate detail in the drawing. Move up to the glass and you’ll see fish swimming in the sea, individual blades of grass swaying in the wind and a myriad of tiny windows in the houses. Many of the places and details have a special meaning to Sheila and her work.
The Sheila Fleet windows at Jenners are on display until 28 August in Jenners on the corner of Princes Street and St David’s Street. Visit Sheila’s concession on the Lower Ground Floor of Jenners and discover the bold, vibrant jewellery behind the window illustrations.
Karen and her team welcome you – ask about the new collection launching with the windows – Stone Circles!
