On Saturday 5 July 2025, Sheila Fleet opened her luxurious two-storey jewellery shop at 4 Hanover Street, marking a welcome return of the jewellery designer to the centre of Scotland's capital city. The beautiful Scottish jewellery shop is located opposite the Royal Scottish Academy, and just a few steps from Princes Street.

Sheila Fleet OBE is one of Scotland's leading designers of enamel, silver, gold and platinum jewellery. From the sea to the sky, Sheila's designs are inspired by the beautiful nature, landscapes and history of Scotland, especially Orkney, her island home. All Sheila's jewellery is designed, made and finished in her Orkney workshop.

Edinburgh locals will be familiar with Sheila's jewellery from her previous shop in Stockbridge, and her displays within the iconic Jenners department store. The relocation of Sheila Fleet Edinburgh to Hanover Street brings the made-in-Scotland brand back into the city centre, showcasing Sheila's extensive range of traditional and contemporary collections in the heart of Edinburgh.

For this new project, Sheila Fleet Jewellery worked with Helen Lucas Architects and commercial interior company SPLINTR, a talented team of designers, architects and craftspeople who specialise in creating bespoke interiors for the retail and hospitality sectors. "This project has been a really pleasurable experience working with such a creative and ambitious team who have brought our vision to life", said Sheila.

The interior represents Sheila's love for geology, taking inspiration from pyrite rock formations and the striking basalt rock upon which sits Edinburgh Castle. "My love of rocks and gemstones started when I was at Edinburgh College of Art in the 60s", said Sheila. "I joined the Rose Street Lapidary Club in 1964 where I made my first piece of jewellery, and the rest is history!". Sheila is celebrating almost sixty years in the jewellery industry, with over thirty of those running her own jewellery company. Sheila Fleet Jewellery now has five unique retail locations in Orkney, Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews.

On the ground floor of the new Hanover Street premises, customers are welcomed with a dark, earthy ambience featuring rich natural textures. Discover some of Sheila's iconic designs within a striking, sculptural wall display evoking the structure of pyrite rock.
As you ascend to the upper level, the atmosphere transforms into a lighter, organic environment filled with soft, flowing finishes evoking the movement of sea forms. Explore Sheila's designer Scottish rings and exclusive Scottish Gold, with our fantastic Edinburgh team on hand to help you find your perfect piece of Sheila Fleet jewellery. Enjoy a complimentary refreshment in the Ring Bar and admire the views of the Royal Scottish Academy and Edinburgh's Old Town. This will be a memorable experience for special occasions such as engagements, weddings, and anniversaries.

The two floors are linked with a stunning staircase, crafted by SPLINTR and Ratho Byers Forge, and set within a striking nine-metre-high rock wall, handcrafted by Adrian Hatton of Rockcraft. "The overall result is a stunning expression of things that I love', said Sheila.
