The ultimate place to experience Sheila Fleet Jewellery!

If you're in Orkney, or you're planning a trip to the islands, a visit to The Kirk Gallery & Café in Tankerness is a must. This beautifully renovated former parish church is a showcase for Sheila Fleet’s jewellery collections, including her very latest designs. In addition, a tasteful extension houses The Kirk Café—a fantastic Orkney food experience offering some unique Orcadian dishes. Booking your table before you visit is highly recommended.

We have full disabled access at the Kirk Gallery & Café, including a lift to our giftware mezzanine. We are happy to have assistance dogs within the Kirk Café. We also have outdoor tables—weather permitting—where all visitors' dogs are welcome.

Every detail of the Kirk has had Sheila and her son Martin’s personal attention. Prepare to step into designer heaven as you walk through the original church entrance…

The Kirk Gallery as seen from the main entrance.

The spacious interior combines features of traditional Orkney stone-work with a touch of architectural inspiration from Sheila’s travels. Look around and you’ll see the original pulpit with its lofty view over the new, purpose-built display cabinets while soft-coloured light stretches from the stained-glass windows.

Glance upwards and you’ll see the original brass lamps that once lit church services, now shining on Sheila’s silver, gold and platinum designs below. And the eagle-eyed might even spot a carving of Sheila's first jewellery design, Birsay Disc, embedded in the Kirk's original wooden ceiling.

Loaded Hasselback Tatties, one of the Kirk Café's signature dishes.

Once you've soaked in the feast of design and detail in the historic Kirk, ‘take a pew’ in the Kirk Café where you'll find a range of mouth-watering dishes, cakes and bakes to choose from. It’s the perfect place to relax as you consider that special purchase.

We use a variety of local ingredients to create our Orkney food experience at The Kirk Café. Take a look at our Local Suppliers page to find out more about the various companies, farms and small businesses involved.
