Join Muriel, Marion and Leanne in the Gallery for our Kirkwall Festive Event this weekend. All three have been very busy getting the Gallery ready… spot the Christmas tree, snow and lots of sparkles!
New Captivate shines in silver above with a fine polished finish. The neutral colour of silver compliments most outfits. Jewellery fit for a snow queen…
Winter Designs and Colours
Frosted snowflakes, frozen firs and delicate icicles surround Sheila’s contemporary and iconic designs. As you can see below, Lunar Lichen’s deep colour contrasts with the silver & crystal enamel and yellow gold of Morning Dew.
Below Muriel is smiling as she’s just finished polishing ALL the jewellery and rings. The glass display cabinets behind her are indeed gleaming! Time for a break and a quick breath of fresh air so she’s donned a teal blue Atelier Lila cardigan and scarf. We also have beautiful bags and scarfs from local fashion designers, Kirsteen Stewart and Marielle K.
Glassware can add a touch of elegance and reflection to a room and we have three very different designers on display. The coloured glass above is by Elin Isaksson who works in a remote studio in the hills around Stirling. The unusual candlesticks and lanterns beside Elin’s glass are from slightly further afield…
Crafted in Denmark
Introducing a range of lovely decorations and gifts from Denmark! It’s Scandinavian purity with a splash of colour and plenty of festive fun…
Exclusive in Orkney
While Muriel was polishing the jewellery and rings, Marion was arranging the Failsworth hats. These stylish hats are exclusive in Orkney to the Gallery and wonderful to wear. Marion couldn’t resist trying a few on!
Also exclusive to the Gallery are soft-to-touch leather bags from Rowallan in the Lake District – beautiful, useful gifts for women and men.
Festive Designer Gifts
Between organising the bags and pottery we caught Leanne wrapping up in an alpaca knitted Pom-Pom hat and scarf from Scottish designer, Samantha Holmes. Leanne even had the matching mitts on, only you’ll have to visit the Gallery to see them!
The pottery pictured is from another island designer, Neil Tregear, from the Isle of Wight. Like local pottery designer Susan Walls, all Neil’s ceramics are hand-thrown. As well as Susan Walls, the Gallery features many other local designers including Leila & Jo Thomson, Chloe Jowett and Leo Kerr who add a tempting selection of prints and mirrors respectively to the displays.
Above all, the Kirkwall Gallery is where you can find the most wonderful selection of Sheila’s bold and distinctive jewellery designs. Her new Captivate collection is available exclusively from the Gallery, Tankerness Workshop as well as Sheila’s other shops and website.
Sheila and all the Kirkwall team hope you will come along and join the festive fun in the Gallery!
