History & Background

Sheila opened her luxury Scottish designer jewellery store on Hanover Street in July 2025, relocating from her Stockbridge Gallery that had been open since 2008. Edinburgh is a significant city for Sheila. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art in the 1960s and was awarded an Honorary Degree in 2014. Her jewellery is hallmarked here and her first concession was established in Jenners on Princes Street in 1995.

The interior represents Sheila’s love for geology, taking inspiration from pyrite rock formations and the striking basalt rock upon which sits Edinburgh Castle. “My love of rocks and gemstones started when I was at Edinburgh Art College in the 60s”, said Sheila. “I joined the Leith Lapidary Club in 1964, where I made my first piece of jewellery, and the rest is history!”.

On the ground floor of the new Hanover Street premises, customers are welcomed with a dark, earthy ambiance featuring rich natural textures. Discover Sheila’s iconic designs within a striking wall display evoking the structure of pyrite rock.

As you ascend to the upper level, the atmosphere transforms into a lighter, organic environment filled with soft, flowing finishes. Explore Sheila’s designer rings and exclusive Scottish Gold, with our fantastic Edinburgh team on hand to provide one-to-one guidance to help you find your perfect piece of Sheila Fleet jewellery. Here you can enjoy views of the Royal Scottish Academy and Edinburgh’s Old Town. This will be a memorable experience for special occasions such as engagements, weddings and anniversaries.

The two floors are linked with a stunning staircase, crafted by Ratho Byers Forge, set within a striking nine-metre-high rock wall, handcrafted by Adrian Hutton of Rockcraft. “The overall result is a stunning expression of things that I love”, said Sheila.
