Back in November, we met the lovely Michael and Tracy who got engaged with a Sheila Fleet ring, and married in Orkney

Their story started in April 2021 when Michael was on a work trip in Shetland and spotted one of our posters! Knowing Tracy loved Scotland and wanted an engagement ring with a story and some soul, he decided to explore Sheila's range of engagement rings.

"On the 29th April 2021 Michael whisked me away to Oban and proposed to me at one of our favourite spots with Sheila's New Wave engagement ring... I loved it!" Said Tracy.

"We wanted a simple but special wedding, so decided to get married in Orkney where my ring was made, and so we were able to collect our wedding rings in person.

Tracy & Michael's engagement and wedding rings - New Wave ring set in 9ct yellow gold and Celtic Knotwork ring in 9ct white gold.

We visited the Kirk Gallery & Cafe on our first day in Orkney and had a delicious lunch and was made to feel very welcomed by Maggie.  She was extremely busy but still took the time to chat to us and cater for my gluten free and vegan requirements.

Lovely Lisa introduced us to Sheila, where we had a wee chat with her about her career and some of her adventures she and her late husband had, what a truly inspirational lady!

Because our wedding was just the two of us, we didn’t arrange a photographer, however, Lisa had other plans! She gave us a list of some of the locals that could assist in capturing our special day.

The day before our wedding we popped into the Kirkwall Gallery to collect our wedding rings, only to discover Michael’s was rather on the small side. Again the level of service was amazing, nothing was too much trouble.  We then had to make a return journey to The Kirk to see if they could help out. Lisa, again, was amazing! She organised the ring to be re-made for Michael while we visited the cafe.

On the 12th of November we got married in Kirkwall. After our vows, Sheila had kindly arranged with photographer, Tracey Maree Photography, to meet with us at The Kirk Gallery & Cafe for photos. We had an amazing time and felt like royalty!

A huge thank you to all you ladies (and gentleman) for making us feel so welcome at Sheila Fleet Jewellery."
