This Mill Sands brooch in sterling silver mimics the shapes in sand at low tide. It is hand-enamelled in colours that reflect those of the shallow waters around the beach.
This collection is named after the beach below Sheila’s workshop in Tankerness, Orkney. The view over the wide bay is always different, as the light and colour changes with each hour, day and season. Sheila is fascinated with different ways to portray the magic of the sea in her jewellery. Mill Sands is inspired by the unique colours reflected in the wet sands and shallow waters around the shoreline.
