This Flagstone necklace in classic 9ct yellow gold features seven layered segments of gold, hand-set in our Orkney workshop with a 3mm and 2mm diamond. The design hangs elegantly from a yellow gold wire and measures approximately 17mm by 46mm.
Sheila has always been very interested in geology, especially during her early years while studying at Edinburgh College of Art. Flagstones—or flags—have a unique texture and are used for fencing in parts of Caithness, with animals using them as shelter during the winter months. As the stones become weathered they acquire a beautiful colour and texture, and this aged appearance gave Sheila the inspiration for her ‘Flagstone’ collection.
