This Cross of the Kirk enamel ring in sterling silver is hand-enamelled in 'Crystal' enamel and is set with an oval-cut blue topaz. The cross design is approximately 10mm by 12mm and is set on a sterling silver 2mm band.
A collection inspired by a wooden carving found in the former St Andrews Parish Church in Tankerness, Orkney. The carving may have been made in the early 18th century, when the church was built, or may be much older. Sheila has reinterpreted the cross in sterling silver and enamel, with some designs including a blue topaz gemstone.
The Cross of the Kirk collection celebrates the re-opening of the old parish church, now beautifully renovated by Sheila Fleet Jewellery and known as The Kirk Gallery & Café, a stunning exhibition space for Sheila’s distinctive designs and a showcase for local Orkney food.
