This Cross of the Kirk ring in sterling silver is hand-enamelled in 'Cool Slate' enamel in our Orkney workshop. Sheila’s cross design is approximately 14mm by 17mm and is set on a sterling silver 3mm band.
A collection inspired by a wooden carving found in the former St Andrews Parish Church in Tankerness, Orkney. The carving may have been made in the early 18th century, when the church was built, or may be much older. Sheila has reinterpreted the cross in sterling silver and enamel, with some designs including a blue topaz gemstone.
The Cross of the Kirk collection celebrates the re-opening of the old parish church, now beautifully renovated by Sheila Fleet Jewellery and known as The Kirk Gallery & Café, a stunning exhibition space for Sheila’s distinctive designs and a showcase for local Orkney food.
