This Cross of the Kirk necklace in sterling silver and 'Cool Slate' enamel is hand-enamelled in our Orkney workshop. The design is approximately 19mm x 23mm and hangs elegantly on a sterling silver wire.
A collection inspired by a wooden carving found in the former St Andrews Parish Church in Tankerness, Orkney. The carving may have been made in the early 18th century, when the church was built, or may be much older. Sheila has reinterpreted the cross in sterling silver and enamel, with some designs including a blue topaz gemstone.
The Cross of the Kirk collection celebrates the re-opening of the old parish church, now beautifully renovated by Sheila Fleet Jewellery and known as The Kirk Gallery & Café, a stunning exhibition space for Sheila’s distinctive designs and a showcase for local Orkney food.
