This Crescent & Rod brooch in polished sterling silver features a Pictish symbol, with intricate details highlighted in oxidised silver. The design is complemented by two rhodolite gemstones: 3mm and 1.5mm. The brooch is hand-finished in our Orkney workshop and measures approximately 34mm by 28mm.
Sheila’s Crescent & Rod design is inspired by a carving found on a stone in St Peter's Church in South Ronaldsay, Orkney. The stone was used as a windowsill in the church until around 1852 and can now be seen in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
