This Book of Kells Pendant Necklace in classic 9ct yellow gold features a single intertwining cord design. The piece is hand-finished in our workshop in Orkney and measures approximately 19mm by 16mm.

This collection is based on a beautiful illuminated Gospel book from the late 8th Century. The pattern of intertwining cords is derived from Eastern and Celtic art, and passed into the repertoire of British and Irish artists from the 6th to 9th Century. The interlacing design is found on metalwork and sculpted stone, as well as illuminated Gospel Books.
