These Book of Kells cufflinks in classic 9ct yellow gold feature a single intertwined cord design. Each cufflink measures approximately 16mm wide and is hand-finished in our Orkney workshop.
This collection is based on a beautiful illuminated Gospel book from the late 8th Century. The pattern of intertwining cords is derived from Eastern and Celtic art, and passed into the repertoire of British and Irish artists from the 6th to 9th Century. The interlacing design is found on metalwork and sculpted stone, as well as illuminated Gospel Books.
