This Birsay Disc Dress Necklace in classic 9ct yellow gold features a triskele of trumpet spirals. The design hangs elegantly on a gold neckwire and measures approximately 46mm in diameter.
The Birsay Disc collection was inspired by a small lead disc found on the Brough of Birsay in Orkney. The Brough, a small tidal island, supported a thriving metalworking industry from the 7th to the late 8th century. A rich array of brooches, rings and dress pins were found—jewellery for the prosperous Pictish community on the Orkney Mainland.
